Unnamed Gold Well
Half-brother to Punchestown Festival winner Walk To Freedom
3yo bay gelding by Gold Well ex Carryonharriet
A real chasing type, this three year old is by the National Hunt sire Gold Well, himself a full brother to Montjeu. Boasting a 50% winners to runners strike-rate that is surpassed only by the great King’s Theatre amongst the UK and Irish-based sires in recent years, his progeny from his first five crops include Grade 1 winner Holywell, as well as 160+ chasers Sausalito Sunrise and Johns Spirit.
A half-brother to Walk To Freedom, a six year old who has already achieved a Racing Post Rating of 145 when winning over hurdles at the Punchestown Festival, he is out of a half-sister to two black-type performers by Roselier, including Listed-winning hurdler Holland Park, who achieved a Racing Post Rating of 145 when winning at the Aintree Festival. The dam is also a half-sister to the dam of Lord Ben, a 145-rated chaser in Ireland.
He is the first son of Gold Well that we have had in the yard and he is an absolutely smashing individual, who looks the type that could start off in a bumper in the spring.
Though he looks every inch a chaser in the making, he is bred to do very well in bumpers and then over an intermediate trip over hurdles first and he is a tremendously exciting prospect.
